Weekend Review

We have been so busy lately that I was thrilled to have a low key weekend this weekend.  Especially since the weather in SF this weekend was actually summery and warm.

Friday night I had a friend over.  We made a mexican themed dinner and watched an old movie (Funny Face with Audrey Hepburn).  It was the perfect relaxing Friday night.

Saturday we woke up and to the beach for a little romp.  The weather was amazing so I spent the day in the park with Mo .  Then we went an had some amazing Thai food at Blackwood.

I spent all night Saturday upgrading my operating system, backing up my camera and my phone and then backing up my computer.  It was a wild one!  Unfortunately it had to be done.  I broke my iPhone camera and they said I needed to back in up so they could give me a new one.  Ooops!

Sunday I got a manicure and spent the day on the couch.  It was wonderous.

Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run is an amazing non-profit that focuses on helping young girls learn about living a healthy, active lifestyle.  Women like us volunteer to coach the girls for 10 weeks and then at the end, they all run a 5k together.

I LOVE this organization.  I truly believe that women need to stick together.  Life is hard enough why are we out there criticizing each other and making each other feel bad?  So many women feel bad about their bodies and worry about what they eat.  I think it is really important to teach young girls how to feel good about themselves because they are healthy.

I don't actually coach for them, but I am going to try to make that happen in the fall.  I did, however, run their 5k.  Let me tell you this was the funnest (is this a real word?  probably not) 3.1 miles I have ever run.  The girls were so excited and so cute.  It was easy to just feed off of their energy.  It didn't hurt that the 5k was in Golden Gate Park and there was some amazing scenery!

Kappa Bachelorette Reunion

This weekend I went to San Diego for a bridal shower/bachelorette for a friend from college/sorority sister, Sam.

I had a work party Friday night so I flew in bright and early Saturday morning.  The two maids of honor did an amazing job with the bridal shower.  It was beautiful!

We played some fun games (the bride-to-be is on the left)

After the shower Saturday morning, we went out Saturday night for the bachelorette party.

Me and the bride

Kappa's animal is the owl (for wisdom, I believe).  We got an owl, named him Hootie and took him out with us.

Because we are all adults with grown-up jobs, the fast majority of the pictures will never see the light of day. Sorry guys, I am not that cool.

Sunday I flew home and I was pooped! Russ picked me up and we spent the rest of the afternoon/evening on the couch watching the Walking Dead.  I was not sold on this show at first, but now we are totally addicted.  Do any of you guys watch it?

He even had some tea with me!!  It tastes better out of the little cups, right?

No better way to start out this weekend then by talking about last weekend!

We started off the weekend with a bang by going to a Mumford and Sons concert at this amazing Greek Theater in Berkeley.  Mumford was amazing! (his sons were pretty good too ;)

Saturday we slept in and then went to brunch.  Russ really wanted to get on the same bus as our friends and we only had 4 minutes so he made me run from our house to the bus in a skirt and sandals...not cute.  BUT we did make it!

We went for a post-brunch bike ride along the Marina.  I apologize for the awful bangs...they don't like the wind any more than I do.

It looks sunny and nice in this picture, right?  It was supposed to be warm this day (hence the skirt), but it was actually freezing.  By the time we were ready to head home around 4pm, I was literally crying I was so cold.  Yes that was kind of an immature thing to do, but hey, when a girl is cold (and hungry), a girl gets grumpy!

Sunday Russ and I got up early and went for a run along the beach with the girls.  It was AMAZING.  One of the best times I have had in a while (and trust me, I didn't even want to go at first).  Then we went out to the burbs to visit some friends and thaw this cry baby out.

We came home and got in some good snuggling before bed.

Tonight I have to attend a work party and then bright and early tomorrow morning I am off to San Diego for a bridal shower/bachelorette weekend!
Have a great weekend guys!

Ferry Building Farmer's Market/Mother's Day

I know I am way behind on this one but whatever! Such is life, am.i.right?

Since we moved to SF I have wanted to go to the

PS- I just looked at my own blog today and saw how awful most of these phone photos look.  I promise I will start taking more pictures on a real camera so they aren't so terrible.
