weekend recap

I learned this weekend that I really love 3 day weekends and the sun!!

On Friday my little dirt ball got groomed!
Also on Friday, I went to a game night at Mo's house with some other lovely SF bloggers and their significant others.  I love how blogging has given me real life friends to hang with in the city!

I love even more than Mo's husband went golfing with Russ this weekend!  See even the significant others have our blogs to thank!

Mo's dog, Mugsley, was verrrry interested in some bacon wrapped appetizers!

Really bad instagram photo of us all.  Sorry the quality is so bad, at least I remembered to take some pics!

We women didn't know what many of the cards in Cards Against Humanity were.  Googling ensued and this was the result.  Their faces say it all!

Saturday morning I had a flight to catch at 6:30 am (yuck!), which meant I had to get up at 4am (bigger YUCK) AND poor Russ took me to the airport so he had to get up that early too.  I owe him one! (but shhh! don't tell him that!)

I flew out to AZ to visit my mom.  My best friend, Shelby, met me out there with her sweet baby boy Hunter (he is also my god son).  The last time I saw him, he was 3 weeks old.  Now he is a little man who walks and talks!!

It was in the 90s all weekend so we got some good pool time in.

We also went to the farmer's market.  I bought Russ a treat there to bring back as a thank you for taking me to the airport so early and watching the girls while I was gone.

Could he be any cuter? Nope, I didn't think so either!

We also did some reading.

I had the best time spending quality time with my mom, best friend and godson.  My best friend has been away from her husband for months now because of his job in the army.  This memorial day it is important to remember those who have fallen, but also those who continue to sacrifice.  This includes the men and women in the armed forces, but also their families who sacrifice every day they are separated.  Her husband is truly a hero, but she is mine.  How she has raised such a sweet little boy while going to school and running marathons is beyond me.  She is amazing!

Bay 2 Breakers

As many of you know, this weekend in SF was Bay to Breakers.  It is a giant run/walk from the Bay in the east to the Breakers in the west.  Some people run this race early in the morning.  The vast majority of people walk the race in costume while imbibing alcoholic beverages.

My brother came to visit last year for this race and had so much fun he decided to come back again.  I had fun, but way less fun than last year.  I think I am starting to get (or already am) too old for this.  We will see how I feel next year, but this might have been my last one.

Here are pics from the day...

Brother Visits

This weekend my brother came to hang for the weekend.  Friday night we went to happy hour and had an early night.  While out, we were eating tater tots and I literally inhaled one of them.  I could feel it in my chest until the next morning...pathetic, I know.

My brother clearly missed the pups!

Saturday we went to Golden Gate park to walk around with the dogs and check it out.  I have been many times before, but it is so large that there are a lot of places I have never seen.

We decided to walk around Stowe Lake.  There are ducks and turtles and it was very pretty.

After Golden Gate Park, we met up with friends at Fort Mason green to eat sandwiches and enjoy the sun.
Mo and her husband and pups came and met up with us too.  Mugsley and Bowser were very cute!

Sunday was Bay to Breakers so I will have a separate post on just that tomorrow.
How was your weekend?

more of life lately

For a while there, the weather was incredible...don't worry our "summer" weather is kicking in.  Today it is cloudy and raining.  Luckily we enjoyed the nice weather while we could.

We hit up the beach...

I left work early one afternoon and Russ and I had a picnic date in the park

Trying to get some sun on my legs so I don't blind people this summer~!

We went on a weekend date night as well.  Russ took be to Wayfare Tavern .  It is an amazing restaurant owned by Tyler Florence.  The food is delish and it has a cool San Francisco vibe.

Poor Russ, miserable at the thought of eating one more bite.

This is what happens when you don't unpack!

We accompanied Russ to the driving range.  The girls and I enjoyed the sunset while he enjoyed golfing.

And we spent a fair amount of time on the couch....

Catch up

I am still playing catch up.  These pictures are from my weekend about 3 weeks ago.  Better late than never, amIright?
A few weeks back I went to Monterey for the day with a friend.  We are both old on the inside so we went for afternoon tea, hit up some antique shops and then walked around Cannery Row before getting dinner and heading back.

The next day Russ and I took the dogs to the park and this little girl adopted Brussy.  She was in love.  She was hugging her and petting her and following her all over.  Brussy was a total angel and let the girl do with her as she wished.  If this doesn't make your ovaries hurt, I don't know what would!

Lately in these parts it has actually been sunny and dare I say (relatively) warm.  We have been enjoying every moment because soon it will be summer here and I will need to bust out the parka and cry.

Brunch cocktails outside, I think so!
