Halloween Giants

This weekend, my friend, Sarah, and I went to a pumpkin patch in Half Moon Bay to go through the hay maze and get some pumpkins.

Gorgeous drive to Half Moon Bay

Huge hay maze.  It was actually a lot harder to get out of than we thought!

On Sunday night I went to a Halloween dinner party.  We had Halloween themed food and carved pumpkins.

I made pumpkin and ghost shaped tortilla chips

Our lovely hostess made everything else and set this spooky table on the roof with a view of the city!

We also watched the SF Giants game because they were in the playoffs.  The Giants won the World Series and people flooded the streets to celebrate.  I couldn't miss the opportunity so I met up with Russ and friends to celebrate.  It was a once in a lifetime experience to see hundreds of people in the streets.

It was a great night and a wonderful weekend! Too bad I had to go to work Monday morning!!

Craft Spirits Carnival

San Francisco is a great city.  One of my favorite things about living here is that there is ALWAYS something going on in the city.  One such event is the Craft Spirits Carnival! A friend of my got 3 VIP passes, so off we went! (this was a couple weeks ago)

Jenny, me, Sarah

You could taste the liquor plain...

Or, you could taste it in a mixed drink (thank goodness!)

In addition to craft liquor, they also had yummy food! We got tamales!

Since it was a "carnival" they had a (creepy) guy swallowing swords.  They also had a "burlesque" dancer that was more like a stripper.  This blog is PG-13 so I will not be posting photos of that (you're welcome!!).

There was also a girl doing acrobatics.  She was good, but after having seen Cirque du Soleil, however, this wasn't too impressive.

All in all, it was a really fun experience and I actually learned a lot about liquor.  We ended the day with some delicious pizza and brussel sprouts at delarosa.

weekend review

Last week was pretty busy work-wise (hence the lack of posting) so this weekend I wanted to relax.  This weekend was a great mix of socializing, sleeping and catching up at home!

Friday night we were supposed to go camping, but the plans fell through so instead we had friends over to watch the Giants kick butt in the playoffs!! Then we went out to a yummy, fun Mexican dinner at Tortilla Heights .

Saturday was Brussy's 5th birthday so we spent the day doing her favorite things!! We started out by going to the park for a romp.  Then we came home where she got birthday cake, a chew bone, lots of pets and a long snuggly nap!

my babies

Brussy LOVED her cake!

Look at these little girls sitting like angles!! Bijou is lickin her chops in anticipation!
Saturday night I left my sleeping Brussy to have dinner with my high school friend who was visiting, Kaily.

Sunday the Brussy birthday celebrations continued by taking the girls to play at the beach!

I spent the rest of the weekend painting my nails, baking cookies and watching the first season of Homeland!  Now back to work!! How was your weekend?

Peek Party

Things have been crazy around here.  You probably deduced that from my lack of posting.  Since fleet week I have been working a ton.  Also, our friends found a place and are moving here THIS weekend!!

Also, last night we went to the launch party for a new SF start up, Peek.  Peek helps you find and book activities to do on trips.  We got invited to the party because we are really cool San Franciscans Russ' friend interned there is this summer!
