Weekend in Montana

Cory and Lindsay picked us up from the airport in their RV and we stopped by Big Sky Brewing Company for a little beer tasting.

When we got to my mom's we decided to play a round of golf (by "we" I mean the boys played). We drank wine and heckled them!  It was a splendid time!

We saw a large, 4-point buck on the course!

The next day we rode Hiawatha Trail.  It used to be part of the Milwaukee Railroad and now it is just for bike rides.  The first part of it is a 2 mile long, pitch black tunnel! It was scary!

 Mama B and I survived!

The views on the trail were amazing!

That afternoon we did a river float.  I didn't bring my camera so there are no pics, but this is the view of the river from my mom's backyard.  We saw a beaver and two bald eagles.  We also go the train to honk its horn at us!

Sunday we did a 4-wheel ride up to a secluded lake!

It was a little dusty haha

There were butterflies everywhere and they loved Cory!

The boys found a log raft that was built 35 years ago and rode it around the lake like Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer!

I love these guys!

Look how in love they cute!

My mom made us these amazing beer can chickens.

I made some cookies :)

Needless to say, we had a great time!!

Hima Guest Post

Well guys, I am off to Montana with Russ to meet up with Cory and Lindsay on their around the country RV adventure.  My mom lives in Montana so we are going to meet at her place for some outdoorsy fun.  We get home late Monday and back to work Tuesday so someday late next week I'll give you guys the scoop!

In the meantime, Hima is gonna fill in for me and tell you guys about her favorite vacay!  She is from the Bay as well and yes she is 14 and already blogging and taking way better pictures than I do!  She makes me feel very old (which I kind of am now).  Enjoy!

Hey there, wonderful adventurers! I'm so excited to be guest posting today, talking about my favorite vacation! First, just a little tiny bit about myself.  I'm Hima, a 14 year-old optimist in the Silicon Valley (CA), and I blog over at My Musings I'm absolutely addicted to strawberries and sea salt chocolate covered almonds. I'm a first degree black belt in taekwondo, and I will always love San Francisco, no matter how many times I go. I see life as my adventure and I intend to live it in the best way possible! Enough about me, let's talk about vacations.
So this past December, my family flew cross country to the other Disney central of America, Florida and had the best ten day, fun-filled vacation ever. First on the agenda was a three-day Christmas cruise to the Bahamas. The most fun, food, and sun you could pack in to three days. We even go to go snorkeling, and friends, you would not believe how clear the water is!

Even if I live in CA, an hour is little far to see the sun set over the water, so this was just the best thing ever. Ths sun lit up the sky, like it was feeding off of our energy and projecting it out into the sky.

I'm sure this is more than a little creepy, but come on, how could I resist?

After the cruise, well, it was off to every Disney Park imaginable: the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and. Hollywood Studios. Although I enjoyed all of them, I think that the Magic Kingdom truly captures the essence of Disney. It's all about imagination and creativity, and the freedom to be who you want to be. Throw in all the rides and the fun shows and it really is the happiest place on earth! Except for the food. Theme park food is not my favorite. By any means.

I know this picture is rather unflattering, but let's focus on the background, shall we?
That little monster behind me? That's my brother, Yashu! He's 8, I'm 14, and we both think the other one is pretty annoying.

I mean, we fight.

but we still love each other!

Watch out, guys! We're coming to get you! We've even got the blessing of Ra-Tiki-Ta, the monkey god.

Last, but definitely not least, we went to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. This was one of my favorite parts of the whole trip. I mean, what's not to love!? It's Harry Potter!

Hogwarts. enough said.

Sleeping Beauty's Castle, in all it's glory. The best possible end to an amazing vacation.

Thanks so much for reading everybody! I had vacationfuls of fun (see what I did there?) recounting and remembering this vacation, so thanks for having me guest post Chantal! Don't forget to stop by my blog  and stay a while if you like.

That's all for now!

lions, tigers and bears! oh my!

SO as you know, this week has been crazy.  Two hearings down, one to go!  I also went out Tuesday night to the coolest place ever that involved a password and costumes.  That post, my friends, is coming soon.  BUUUUT first things first....the wedding in Santa Barbara.  This wedding was at the zoo and let me tell you, it was awesome!!

We drove down Friday afternoon, which let's be real, was long and tedious, but we got there just in time to meet up with friends and go out!  Then we came home and crashing in this lovely gem (see below)

We stayed in a gorgeous hotel.  This bed was so big and cozy I did not want to get out of ever.

I wanted to take a bubble bath, but didn't end up having time.

At least froggy got to enjoy the tub!

Saturday we got up and went to brunch with friends.  I had delish crab cake with poached egg and arugula. I got too excited about eating it to take a picture. Sorry guys!  However, we also got these cinnamon beignets that I did picture before inhaling.  Feel free to drool.  I am as I am writing this.

Then I spent the rest of the day enjoying the view from the rooftop pool! I know, I know, why did I leave SoCal?  What we do for love!! :)

The bride and groom planned for a trolly car to take us from the hotel to the wedding.  So fun! Only downside was that I basically wasted an hour of my life doing my hair since it looked awful after the 10 min ride!

Our dear pals Cory and Lindsay!  They are the ones we are meeting in Montana this weekend.

Kohls sunnies, BCBG dress, gifted necklace, recycled leather purse, no name shoes.  Isn't Russ handsome with his pocket square and tie bar?! He cleans up perdy good!

After the ceremony we got to take a train ride tour around the zoo.  Turns out that all you get to see is the back of the enclosures, but at least it was comical.

After the train ride we fed the giraffes! Who has giraffe feedings at their wedding!?

The reception was held on a huge lawn at the zoo that overlooked the ocean.  The sunset was magical.

All in all it was a beautiful, unique and fun wedding.  The best part about the whole thing was seeing how the groom looked at the bride.  I have been to many weddings where I felt the couples' love, but I've never seen any young man look at his bride the way Brian looked at Steffi.  It was such a blessing to witness their pure love and joy.
